The CSX A-Line Bridge was completed in 1919 for the Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac Railroad (RF&P); and used as a direct route over the James River and through Richmond for trains traveling from Florida to the Northeast corridor. It has become a Richmond icon, and many locals' favorite to view from swimming holes and hiking trails around the area.
